Avigilon installers: certified partner for Alta and Unity
Cloud and on-premise Avigilon CCTV and access control, designed, installed and maintained by a certified Avigilon partner. Free site survey, no obligation.
Certified Avigilon installers for cloud and on-premise security
SEG Ltd is a certified Avigilon partner, designing, supplying and installing Avigilon security systems for businesses across Kent, London and England. We install the full Avigilon range: the cloud-based Alta platform for video and access control, and the on-premise Unity platform for organisations that want footage and data kept on their own hardware.
Avigilon, part of Motorola Solutions, has two distinct platforms and the right one depends on how your business works. Alta is 100% serverless: cameras and door controllers connect straight to the cloud and you manage every site from a browser or mobile app, from anywhere. Unity is the AI-powered on-premise platform, built for enterprises, critical infrastructure and any site with strict data-handling requirements. As a certified partner for the whole portfolio we have no reason to push you toward one or the other; we survey your site, listen to how you work, and recommend the platform that fits, including hybrid designs that mix both.
If you are running Openpath access control or Ava cloud video, you are already an Avigilon customer: both products were acquired by Motorola Solutions and now live on as Alta Access and Alta Video. We service and extend existing Openpath and Ava systems and can move you onto current Alta licensing when the time is right.
From a single-site office needing a handful of AI cameras to multi-site estates managed entirely from the cloud, our engineers handle system design, installation, commissioning, training and ongoing maintenance under one roof. Every project starts with a free site survey and a fixed written quote. Our office is staffed Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. Call 0330 133 9801 to book one in.
Watch: the Avigilon security portfolio in 90 seconds.
Avigilon Alta: cloud CCTV and access control we install
The Alta range is fully cloud native. No on-site servers or NVRs to buy, power or maintain, with AI analytics built in and everything managed from one dashboard.
Avigilon Unity: on-premise enterprise security
Not every organisation wants its security in the cloud. Avigilon Unity is the AI-powered on-premise platform: video management, access control and analytics running on your own infrastructure, with footage stored on site. It suits enterprises, critical infrastructure and any site where data must stay inside the building.
Unity Video, built on Avigilon Control Center (widely known as ACC), includes appearance search, licence plate recognition and object detection, so operators find the person or vehicle they are looking for in seconds rather than scrubbing through hours of footage. We design, install and commission Unity systems end to end, including recording servers, camera estates and access integration.

- Footage and data stay on your own hardware
- Appearance search, licence plate recognition, object detection
- Scales to hundreds of cameras per site
- Perpetual licensing options, capex-friendly
- Best for: enterprises, critical infrastructure, high-security sites
Using Openpath or Ava? You already own Avigilon
Openpath access control and Ava cloud video were acquired by Motorola Solutions and now live on as Avigilon Alta Access and Alta Video. Existing Openpath and Ava systems keep working, and as a certified Avigilon partner we can service them, extend them with additional doors and cameras, and move you onto current Alta licensing when the time is right.
If you have been searching for Openpath installers or Ava Security support in the UK, or your original installer has disappeared since the rebrand, we can help. We take over orphaned systems regularly: a health check first, then a maintenance contract that keeps readers, controllers and cameras current with firmware and software updates.

Avigilon FAQs
It depends on the platform and the scale of the system. Alta is subscription based: you pay for hardware and installation, then an annual licence per camera or door. Unity is a traditional capital purchase with on-site recording hardware and perpetual licensing options. After a free site survey we provide a fixed written quote covering hardware, installation and licensing with no hidden extras.
Alta is fully cloud based: no on-site servers, managed from anywhere in a browser or mobile app, licensed by subscription. Unity is on-premise: footage and data stay on your own hardware, with enterprise AI analytics such as appearance search and licence plate recognition. We install both platforms and recommend the right fit at your free site survey.
Often, yes. Alta Cloud Connectors bring many existing third-party IP cameras onto the Alta platform, so you get cloud management and AI analytics without replacing working hardware. This is frequently the most cost-effective route into Avigilon for businesses with a recent CCTV investment. We confirm camera compatibility during the site survey.
Yes. Openpath was acquired by Motorola Solutions and is now Avigilon Alta Access. Ava Security similarly became Avigilon Alta Video. Existing Openpath and Ava systems continue to work, and as a certified Avigilon partner we can service them, extend them and move you onto current Alta licensing when the time is right.
Yes. We offer planned maintenance contracts and fault call-outs for Avigilon Alta and Unity systems regardless of who installed them, including systems still running under the Openpath or Ava names. A maintenance visit covers hardware inspection, firmware and software updates, and a written condition report.
Not with Alta. It is a 100% serverless platform: cameras and door controllers connect straight to the cloud, so there is nothing to rack, power or patch on site. If you prefer on-site storage, Unity runs on local recording hardware that we specify, supply and install.
