Paxton10: cloud-managed access control with integrated video
Paxton10 is Paxton's newer all-in-one platform combining access control and video management in a single cloud-managed system. SEG Ltd installs Paxton10 across London, Kent, Essex and Surrey for organisations that want to administer their access estate from a browser or phone rather than a Windows server, and for sites that want their cameras and door events tied together on one platform.
Where Net2 stores its database on your local server, Paxton10 stores its configuration in Paxton's cloud and is administered through any web browser or the Paxton10 app. Controllers connect to the cloud over your internet, so administration happens from wherever you are. Paxton10 also natively integrates with Paxton's cameras, meaning a door event in Paxton10 surfaces alongside the matching video clip in the same interface, no separate VMS to learn, no separate licensing.
Paxton10 is licensed per door per month rather than as a one-off licence. That suits sites adding doors over time (the cost scales gradually) and multi-site organisations that want predictable monthly billing across the whole estate. It also includes the cloud hosting, app access for every user, and the integrated video, there is no separate cloud-storage charge for camera footage at typical retention periods. What a Paxton10 installation includes
Paxton10 controllers
Single-door, multi-door and PoE-powered controllers depending on building topology. Each connects to the Paxton10 cloud over your internet connection.
Paxton10 cameras
Optional, integrated cameras that appear in the same dashboard as your door events. We size storage and retention based on your requirements and any compliance constraints.
Readers & tokens
Same Paxton reader range as Net2, proximity, keypad, multi-format. Tokens supplied with your installation; mobile credentials available via the Paxton Key app.
Lock hardware
Electric strikes, magnetic locks, motorised locks, push-to-exit, REX sensors. Specified per door for fire-strategy compliance and ingress profile.
Cloud account setup
Paxton10 cloud tenant configured: users, roles, access levels, time zones, video retention rules. App invitations issued to your administrators.
BS 7273-4 fire interface
Tested and signed off at install. Critical to compliance and to building safety; documented for your records.
How a Paxton10 installation works
1. Survey & cloud preflight
Engineer attends, scopes doors and cameras, confirms your internet upload bandwidth is adequate for the chosen video retention, and provisions your Paxton10 cloud tenant.
2. Install & commission
Hardware fitted and powered. Each controller and camera registers to your cloud tenant. Users invited via the app; admin walkthrough scheduled.
3. Handover & admin training
We work through the Paxton10 web interface and app with your admin team, adding users, setting access levels, reviewing door events with video, managing remote permissions. Documentation provided.
Paxton10 installation FAQs
No. Paxton10 runs entirely from the cloud. Controllers connect outbound to Paxton's cloud over your internet; administration happens through any web browser or the Paxton10 app. You don't need a Windows server on site.
It covers the cloud hosting, the web/app administration, the integrated video at standard retention, all software updates, and user-level app access. There is no separate cloud-storage fee for typical camera retention. We'll quote the exact monthly figure based on door and camera count.
Local door operation continues, controllers cache user permissions and operate independently of the cloud during a network outage. Administration (adding users, viewing events live, accessing video remotely) requires connectivity to resume. Events are queued locally and uploaded once the link returns.
Paxton10 and Net2 are separate platforms with separate administration. Most customers run one or the other, not both. If you have an existing Net2 system that's working well, we usually recommend keeping it; if you're starting fresh or want integrated video, Paxton10 is the right pick. We'll talk through the trade-offs during the survey.
Through the Paxton Key app. Users hold their phone to a reader (NFC) or Bluetooth-tap to unlock. Permissions managed in the Paxton10 cloud and pushed to the phone instantly when added or revoked. No physical token required.
