Planned maintenance for Net2, predictable cost, no surprises

A Net2 maintenance contract gives you predictable annual cost, scheduled engineer visits, prioritised reactive cover when something does fail, and a working relationship with engineers who know your system before they arrive. SEG Ltd offers Net2 service contracts across London, Kent, Essex and Surrey, sized from single-site small offices through to multi-site portfolios with hundreds of doors.

A typical Net2 contract includes one or two scheduled visits per year (most customers choose annual), unlimited remote support during business hours, software updates as Paxton releases them, database backup verification, controller and reader physical inspection, and lock-hardware adjustment. Reactive callouts that fall outside the planned visits are charged at a reduced contract rate, and parts are typically supplied at a contract discount.

Maintenance is also where compliance lives. The BS 7273-4 fire interface check is documented every visit so you have an audit trail. User accounts that should have been removed but weren't (leavers, contractors, temporary staff) get flagged and cleaned up. Net2 software versions are kept current so you stay supported by Paxton. What's included in a Net2 maintenance contract

Annual or bi-annual site visit

Engineer attends, walks every door, tests every reader, verifies lock release, checks REX sensors, inspects cabling. Physical state of the installation documented.

Net2 software updates

Paxton releases Net2 updates regularly. We apply them at a planned visit (not in the middle of your working day), test the database, and confirm everything still works.

Database backup verification

Net2 takes a nightly backup; we check that the backup is actually happening, that the backup file is readable, and that you have a restoration plan.

BS 7273-4 fire interface test

Every visit. Documented sign-off so your fire risk assessment has the access-control evidence it needs.

User audit

Active user list reviewed against your HR or leavers list. Stale accounts removed. Access levels confirmed appropriate.

Priority reactive cover

Reactive faults outside the planned visits get prioritised, typically same-day for system-down, 1–2 working days for non-critical, with discounted labour.

How a Net2 maintenance contract works

1. Quote based on door count + sites

We quote based on how many doors you have, how many sites, and which visit frequency suits. Most contracts are an annual visit plus reactive cover.

2. Scheduled visits

We book the visits into our calendar a year ahead so they happen. You don't have to remember; we send a confirmation a week before each visit.

3. Reactive support

When something breaks between visits, you call our standard number. Contract customers get prioritised response and discounted rates on labour and parts.

Net2 maintenance FAQs

No, we'll attend reactively for any Net2 system whether or not you're under contract. Contract customers get prioritised response time and a reduced hourly rate; non-contract customers get our standard rates and slot in by availability.

For most small commercial sites, an annual visit is plenty. For larger or higher-risk installations (multi-site, healthcare, high-staff-turnover) a bi-annual cadence makes more sense. We'll recommend a frequency at the quote stage based on your site.

Yes, we run multi-site Net2 contracts for property managers and facilities groups across London and the South East. One contract, one engineer team, consistent compliance documentation across all your sites.

Routine consumables (cleaning, fuses, small connectors) are included. Larger parts (controllers, readers, lock hardware) are charged at a contract discount when failure occurs.
