A CCTV maintenance contract that catches problems before you need the footage
SEG Ltd provides structured CCTV maintenance contracts for commercial premises across England. The point of a contract over ad-hoc callouts is simple: by the time someone needs the footage, you know it will actually be there. Cameras fail silently — IR LEDs degrade, lenses fog or dirty up, motion zones get knocked out of alignment, NVR drives reach end-of-life — and none of it shows up until the day there's an incident and the recording isn't usable. A maintenance contract makes sure that day never happens.
Our contracts cover every major CCTV manufacturer: Axis, Dahua, Hikvision, Bosch, Hanwha, Avigilon, plus legacy analogue DVR systems. We don't require you to have used us for the original installation — most of our maintenance work is on systems we inherited from a previous contractor who's gone quiet or stopped trading. The first visit is a baseline inspection: we document every camera, recorder, network path and credential, identify any pre-existing defects, and quote a fair annual contract price based on the actual estate.
Contract pricing depends on system size, visit frequency, and any specific SLAs you need. A typical small commercial site with 12 cameras and one NVR on quarterly visits is generally £400–£700 per year all-in. Larger or multi-site portfolios scale predictably. Contact us with your camera and site counts for a written quote.
What's in a CCTV maintenance contract
Scheduled site visits
Quarterly is standard for commercial CCTV; high-risk or coastal/dusty sites benefit from monthly. Visits scheduled into our calendar a year ahead and reconfirmed in advance.
Camera & housing clean
Physical clean of every lens, dome and housing — removes cobwebs, salt residue, and pollution film that gradually destroy image quality unnoticed.
Recording verification
Every camera confirmed recording continuously at the configured frame rate and resolution. Spot playback checks. Drive health (S.M.A.R.T., temperature) reviewed.
Firmware management
Camera and recorder firmware applied where the manufacturer has released a worthwhile update. We avoid day-one releases and test before deployment.
User & access audit
Active user accounts reviewed, leavers removed, expired credentials cleaned up. Remote-access path verified end to end.
SLA-backed reactive cover
In-contract sites get a published response SLA — typically 1–2 working days for non-urgent, same-day for system-down. Labour at a reduced rate.
How a CCTV contract works in practice
1. Baseline visit
One-off attendance to document the existing estate and identify any pre-existing defects. You get a written report and remedial-works quote before the contract starts.
2. Routine visits
Engineer attends per the agreed cadence with a structured checklist per system. Written visit report with photos sent within two working days.
3. Reactive cover
Between visits, in-contract sites get prioritised reactive response. Many issues we resolve remotely first via secure NVR access — saving the callout fee.
